My name is Jekaterina, and I’m studying a degree in textiles and fashion. Because I am originally from Latvia, I have chosen to research Latvian culture for my final year project. “Come Back” is the title of my collection. I’m inspired d by Latvian symbols such as wheat, oak, and folklore. The collection has been given this name because I will be returning to my native country soon.
This collection features a variety of prints created from drawings of artifacts I’ve gathered and photographs I took in Latvia during semester 1. Drawings of wheat and oak incorporated in 3 dress pieces through fabric manipulation and surface patterns.
